Educational apps are designed and created to help learners globally, and there is no doubt that they have totally transformed the educational institutions in a big way. The advantage of using these educational apps is that they are powered by the web and that mostly, everything is usually stored in the cloud. This enables easy access to emails, documents, calendars and they can also be edited at any time. With the help of these educational apps, streamlining of academic work is facilitated, and with the availability of many educational apps available on the App store, definitely there are no limitations to learning. Internet and education are truly a no strange bed fellows. From online registration, software’s for virtual learning and portals for internal communications are good examples of how internet has been able to merge together. Most of the educational apps are created as mobile apps. Google has educational apps that are free for the k-12 schools also for the colleges, and universities. Google educational apps also offer a 25 GB amount of space for free. Some of the Educational apps can be shared i.e. Calendars, docs, Google groups, sites and sheets. Some of these educational apps are free and can be downloaded for free while other one must buy then at the App Store.

This is a Google product that enables the student to be able to store everything and also share anything in the cloud for easy use from any computer.  Students at home, at the library, on a laptop or ipad can get files from their google drive quickly and easily with this free google service.

2. Evernote

Evernote is a a great tool for students in the sense that it allows them to take notes, store them in the cloud, send them to anyone else, keep them organized, and makes those notes searchable.   Students can take photos and store them in evernote.  Anything important can be used within Evernote.

3. myHomework

myHomework helps students stay organized while at school.  This app has been around since 2009 and has a ton of recognition including Time’s Top 10 Back to School apps.   This app has features like class, homework, tests and assignments tracking.  It also has a really slick calendar display and suport time, block, and period based schedules.   Users can sync across platforms, use the app anytime and anywhere, and also set it to give reminders based on schedule.

Students going to school in other countries will most likely need the help of a translator if they don’t know the resident language of the country they are in.  Languages is an app that can really help with this.  Some of the features include…Offline translation for lightening fast translation time, search by typing a word from either language and get the results you want either way. MoneyWiz is great for students who need help tracking their finances.  This app has  a bunch a really great features that are super convenient and helpful for all students.  Like for instance it will help students track all of their accounts such as banking, cash tracking, check register, bill payments, managing recurring transactions, and more.  Students can export data to PDF and CSV files.  Moneywiz has a really cool cloud syncing feature called sync everything that automatically syncs across all platforms without the user having to do anything.  It also works over 3G and WiFi.
