7 Fun Halloween iPhone Apps

Halloween iPhone Apps are the Treats This Year!

Here’s a great list of seven Halloween iPhone Apps everyone should check out this year.  I won’t say they are the best apps but they are definitely fun and in the halloween spirit.

1. Facinate H

Facinate is a cool Halloween themed photo application that allows users to capture their picture or someone else’s using either the main iPhone camera or the front facing camera and then give users the fun ability to add some Halloween special effects such as scary Halloween frames, and also ways to decorate people such as masks, hats, eyes, noses, mouths,  and scars.  Users can also choose from a large group of accessories such as black cats, coffins, witches cauldrons, and jack-o-lanterns.  Users can also add cool masks to their pictures such as a hockey mask like in Friday the 13th, a Michael Meyers mask like in Halloween, or a Scream mask like the one in the movie Scream.   Once users have finished decorating their picture they can share it to their camera roll, email it, or send it to instagam, Facebook, or twitter.

2. Kick the Buddy Halloween

Kick the Buddy is a fun mindless entertainment app that lets users take their frustrations out on an unsuspecting rag doll by attacking the poor little guy with a various assortment of weapons and items.  These weapons and items do bad things to the little rag doll but for some reason the result is funny and a little mischievous rather than evil.  However if anyone reading this is not into violent games or apps I would not recommend getting this app.  But for the rest of you I say go for it! If users don’t mind such tings this app can be lots of fun and i highly recommend getting it.  Some of the fun items you can use to torment buddy are: flaming jack-o-lanterns, trick or treat candy, witch’s cauldron, vampire bats, demonic scythe, skull bombs, spider webs, and lots lots more.  This version of the app is the free version.  There is also a premium paid version that removes ads and provides even more items you can use to torture buddy and entertain yourself.  The full version of this app is only .99 cents and it’s just as cool.

3. Dead Trigger (Not advisable for kids)

Dead Trigger

Nothing says Halloween like the “undead.”  Zombies are all the rage these days too with television shows like “The Walking Dead” on television and games like plants vs. zombies.  iPhone Game players can now get in on the action wiht “Dead Trigger” a first person shooter that pits the player against hordes of nasty zombies.  Like the title of this section says this game is scary, gore filled, and not something I would let little ones play if I could help it.  The game also plays like an RPG in the sense that players have quests, need to gather new weapons, defend certain areas, and survive many zombie attacks to continue their journey through the game. Once the game begins players have a game map that tells them different places they can go as well as quests they can complete.  The players have ways to purchase new weapons and other items by earning gold, cash, and casino chips.  Each of these items gives the players different benefits.   Dead Trigger is a great game and tons of fun as long as the playera aren’t too afraid of zombies.

4. Halloween v2.1

A list of Halloween apps wouldn’t be complete without thee Halloween app it self.  ”Halloween 2.1″ is a multi-featured app that gives users a bunch of different Halloween related functionality such as a countdown to Halloween, Halloween sound board, Halloween ringtones, Halloween sound and music loops, Halloween costume ideas that uses the power of Google for it’s content, Halloween backgrounds, Halloween trivia, and even a Halloween flashlight.  While Halloween isn’t the most fun application it does manage to capture the Halloween spirit and it is a functionally sound  iPhone application.  One of the best features of this application is the price.  It’s Free!  So go to the app store and get it and get into the Halloween fun!  Did I mention it was FREE?  Yep FREE is Good!

5. Paranormal  Radar Detector Prank

Players that like to scare their friends will totally get into this practical joke app!  Tell your “gullable” friends that you have a paranormal ghost scanner.  The screen itself seems pretty realistic and looks legitamite.  Tell your friend to tap the screen and tap the green button.   I should say that you should make sure you phone’s volume is turned all the way up to maximize the effectiveness of the prank.  After a few seconds the screen will start changing with paranormal activities.  A few seconds after that an evil scary face pop on the screen screaming and scare the pants off them!  Hahaha yes yes lots of hillarity will ensue!  In a perfect world this will all work out.  In reality it may end up getting you slugged or getting your phone thrown across the room.  So make sure your phone is wearing a case before you give the app to anyone.  The app costs .99 cents and I’m thinking that is not too much for prank someone on Halloween!

6. Zombie Swipeout

Great zombie fruit ninja copy app

Continuing with the zombie “undead” theme is the totally wicked game “Zombie Swipeout” by Zynga.  The more I play it the more I think those people at Zynga really know how to make a video game!  Zombie Swipeout is a zombified spin off of the popular game fruit ninja.  Instead of players slicing up fruits they are slicing up zombies and monsters.  Not only that but players across the internet compete with each other to be the best zombie slicer for each week.  Players can give other players gifts, send messages to one another, and also add friends from Facebook, twitter, and from their email contact list.   Zombie Swipeout also has premium items that can be purchased with real money but that is up to you.  I’ve played this game all week without spending a dime and it’s been a completely enjoyable experience to say the least.

7. Pumpkin Maker

Pumpkin Maker is a free iPhone application that allows users to you design and/or decorate a pumpkin picture to celebrate Halloween without getting pumpkin guts all over your hands.  Oh sure you can’t put a candle inside of it and stick outside your front door for the Halloween night but you also can’t email your pumpkin to your friends by just pressing a button on the pumpkin.  And since most pumpkins don’t have buttons this point is moot.  Users can choose from several different varieties of pumpkins that are free with the download of the application.  Users can also purchase more pumpkins if they buy the “Master Pumpkin Maker” pack in the app store.  Users can also choose from backgrounds, eyes, noses, mouths, eyebrows & ears, hair & hats, as well as extra stuff like glasses, cobwebs, whiskers, and more!  Pumpkin Maker is another one of those apps that is mostly fun around the time of Halloween but not that much fun otherwise.  So get it for the Halloween season and then stick on your iCloud “shelf” the rest of the year.
