Emoji Free
Emoji free is the cool little app that lets you add Emojicons (smiley faces and other little pictures) to your SMS messages. I never knew you could do this until I got a text message from my sister the other day with little smiley faces in it. It’s pretty simple to use but it does take a little setup once you install it. Here are the steps:
1. Download Emoji free from the App Store
2. Once it’s installed open it. It will tell you to close it and install the Emoji International Keyboard. (This is where the icons will be hidden for you)
3. Install the international keyboard using the instructions given by Emoji
4. Reopen the Emoji app and test it out.
That’s it now you are ready to use it when you type any SMS message. Simple tap the little globe in the keyboard and your Emoji international keyboard will appear showing a ton of cool fun emoticons you can use in any SMS message to anyone with another iPhone. Messages to non-iPhone users will not see the emoticons but anyone with an iPhone will.

Have you ever played Grand Theft Auto 3 (GTA3 as it’s also known)? Or maybe Grand Theft Auto Miami? Well I’m not sure if Gameloft has a tie in with the folks who make Grand Theft Auto but it sure seems that way to me. From the moment you play this game until the time you stop it’s screaming Grand Theft Auto knock off !! I’m not saying that’s bad but i’m just telling it like it is. On the contrary this game may be the best copy of a game I’ve ever seen. Because it’s just as fun to play as GTA3 and it looks and plays great on the iPhone. I haven’t tried it on my iPad yet but i’m betting it rocks on the bigger screen too. So that it why I had to include it on this list of games. It looks great, it plays great, and it’s well done! So you really should give this app a try. The folks at Gameloft have been making great games for the iPhone for a while now and they haven’t lost their touch at all. Check it out. My one piece of advice on this one is to not give it to your little ones. They might learn a few choice words while playing it. This game is for mature audiences or at the very least a teenager who can deal with a few curse words from time to time.
Burn The Corn
Burn the corn is a fun and addictive game that it great for all ages. In burn the corn your finger contains the magic corn popping flame. You touch the screen and your flame pops the popcorn kernals as they appear on the screen. Swipe across and watch the popcorn pop. There is also your ally the fire warrior who can help you pop the corn by enhancing your magic flame. However there are also enemies like the cute water who is an enemy to fire and can neutralize your flame. There is also a “Time Wizard” that can alter the flow of time. The game has several different modes that are all really great fun to play:
1. Arcade Mode – Turn corn into popcorn, avoid water babies, and release time wizard from his hiding place.
2. Survival Arcade – Failing to turn a corn into popcorn costs you one life. Lose all lives and game is over. Regain health after scoring a perfect score on a level. Earn extra points during the bonus levels.
3. Survival Burnout – Turn as many frozen corns into popcorn within the time allotted. High speed game of burn the corn.
4. Burnout Mode - Turn everything into popcorn without scorching too much.
Major Mayhem
You are Major Mayhem and you’re mission to save your girlfriend from the evil dudes who took her from you. At your disposal is a variety of destructive weaponry, grenades, body armor, and mad fighting skills. You fight ninjas, you jump spikes, you get to shoot people in the face and blow stuff up! The game looks great, plays great, and it kicks major butt. This is a 3 scroller with great graphics and sound and plenty of action. It’s a great addition to anyone’s iPhone but I’m thinking guys may tend to enjoy it more than the ladies will. Sorry just my opinion and not meant to offend any ladies who like blowing stuff up too. If you do then by all means get this app and go to town!!!
Hooked on Words
Hooked on words by Castle Arcadium – is another classic word search game for the iPhone, that anyone who loves word search games will be really into in the moment they try it out. It’s colorful, it’s fun, it’s challenging, and it’s very well done. It also has multiple game modes, great graphics, connections to facebook and twitter and did I mention that it’s FREE! Yes you get all of that for the low low price of nothing, nada, zip, zilch, the big fat goose egg, NO MONEY!! Okay well you get the idea. The four game modes are:
Standard – This is your standards word find. Find as many words as you can
Timed – Same thing as above but you must do it in a short amount of time.
Collapse – Find words, the tiles move down, and it’s to be done in a certain amount of time.
Scramble – The words are scrambled up and you need to find them.
Plants vs. Zombies
Hey wait a minute I thought you said these were games you may not have yet. Who doesn’t have PvZ yet? Well i’m betting some people don’t have it yet and if I’m right then i’m going to educate them on why they should have it. It’s a great, fun game that’s easy to play, fun to learn to play, and right now you can get it dirt cheap on the app store. I think it’s $1.99 and that’s a great deal. The bottom line is you have to protect your house from hordes of shuffling zombies that want to eat your brains. After a while their are also dancing, bouncing, bungie jumping, and a few more that are fun to fight and harder to kill. Your goal is to keep them out of your house by buying plants to fight off the zombies when they come to the house. The plants do things like shoot, fire stink, fling corn and butter, and so much more. PvZ is one of my all time favorite games and I just felt it was appropriate to add this to my list of apps you may not have yet. And I don’t care what anyone thinks about it being on this list because after all…it’s not like I included Angry Birds! Sheesh!!! Even though you should definitely have that too.
