Great MMORPG for the iOS Devices
When you play a game that’s good you usually just know it within the first 5 minutes. It’s something between the combination of gameplay, graphics, and sound that just keeps you wanting more and more. This is exactly the way I felt playing Dragon Bane Elite! Let’s Discuss…
Functionality and Appearance
One of the things I have had dreadful experience with in the past was other game makers attempts at making a massively multiplayer online role playing game (mmorpg) work on the iPhone. Either the game crashed every ten minutes or it just ran so slow that it wasn’t fun to play it at all. I knew that eventually the games would improve but I always seemed to find the duds. Apparently my luck is changing because Dragon Bane Elite is a great game that runs great and looks stunning too. Every time I started this app it loaded, logged me into the game server in seconds and I was playing in no time. The game moved slickly as if it wasn’t connected to any online servers at all. There was no lag whatsoever when I played the this game. It was rock solid!
As far as appearance goes this game gets my full 5 stars as well. It’s colorful, detailed, the armor and weapons look as you would expect from a high caliber mmo and the screen graphics as well as on screen actions all looked amazing when I was playing. It’s modal popups were perfectly detailed and easy to understand. All buttons functioned properly and this game is as advertised. A true instanced based mmorpg experience for the iPad and iPhone.
Game Play is Good But Could Be Better
Great graphics can only carry a game so far. After that it’s time to put up or shut-up and this game is definitely putting it up! Nine classes to choose from for starters. That’s big time awesome because it gives users tons of variety and new ways to experience the game. There are many many companions that users can also choose from to come along on their journey and help them complete each quest as well as defeat enemies looking to do them harm. The title said this is an “instance based” game. This game has over one hundred instances to be played. That’s over 100 challenging Bosses to defeat! There is also an arena where users can fight other users from all parts of the globe.
On top of those features there are Alchemists and Crystals. There is exploration and with exploration comes rewards which can be given at any time. There are Dungeons because all good RPG’s should have a good dungeon or two! Dragon Bane Elite does not disappoint when it comes to dungeons. There are also Guilds, Tournaments, and Everything else that most MMO’s have in common. Another nice thing the developers have done is gone out of their way to offer users rewards for coming back to the game often. There’s rewards for many things that most games I have played don’t offer rewards for when they happen in those games. It’s great because it really keeps players playing longer and increases the fun of the game.
Function unlocks are also one of the great features of Dragon Bane Elite. Players start the world out with limited functions they can do. As players levels increase functions are unlocked and there are more things they can do. This is great because it is another way to reward players for hitting higher levels and playing more and more. The first unlock happens at level 3 and the last unlock happens at level 40. There are many unlocks along the way too.
Join a Tournament
Players level 30 and above can take part in tournaments that offer rewards of epic gear, higher reputation, and massive amounts of Gold! Players tournaments are level based. Players are matched up based on these levels:
The higher level you are the better the rewards you will receive.
There are some issues with the Game Play that I feel could be done better. First of all I think the forging and training objectives could be explained a little more to the user. It came up on the screen and I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do. I think it could be a little clearer. One of the other problems I had was the repetition. My main character was running between quests and the same NPC characters on a regular basis from level 1 to level 10. It was fun but sometimes kind of boring during those constant runs back and forth.
Another issue I have is the training and skill upgrades screens. They function fine but for the new user they are a bit confusing at first. I fear that some people would play this game without doing much training simply out of not knowing any better. I will say that in the beginning there are cues to tell players they need to train and improve their skills and for that I give the developers big credit. Making these items easier and more intuitive for the players would be a nice improvement and add to the enjoyment of the game. Overall these are minor issues and should in no way cause anyone from trying out this game. It Rocks!
Dragon Bane Elite is a nice addition to the MMORPG iOS app genre. It gives users all they could want in a role playing game and the incredibly diverse and large game world in which to play in. I think it’s a good game that with a few minor improvements can be a great one! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone into MMORPG games. It’s challenging and fun to play. Check it out!
