Writing iPhone app reviews a person has to have an iPhone, a desire to play with and review a lot of apps, a certain level of tolerance for crap, a sense of humor, and an open mind. If someone posses all of those traits I feel they have what it takes to write iPhone App Reviews. That being said 2 of my traits were put into play with this app. My sense of humor and my open mind! This app technically is rock solid and there are no bugs or glitches from what i can see. For the most part this app doesn’t have a lot of “moving parts” from what i can see so it’s really not that big of an issue. However!! What this app does is does VERY VERY WELL! It entertains, it makes you laugh, and it allows you to share your joy with the rest of your friends should you so choose. I think that is all I can ask from Facts for the Can. And yes “the Can” refers to the bathroom, the toilet, the potty, el baño, the mug, the bowl, the porcelain throne, also known as your bathroom. This app is entertainment for when you are in the bathroom.
If you had any doubts about this when you open up the main screen those doubts will surely be erased when you read the first button which states “While dropping a deuce” LOL!!! I nearly spit my diet coke out when i read that first button. After clicking that button you are taken to the “While dropping a deuce” fact screen where you a treated to endless nuggets of useless knowledge such as “Non-dairy creamer is flammable” and “The City with the most Rolls Royces per capita: Hong Kong”. After reading one of these you can text one to a friend or post them on Facebook for everyone to read. You can also go back to previous facts as you are scrolling through in case you wanted to see one again. Think of it in the same vein as “Readers Digest” or “Uncle John’s Reader”. Those items are very famous for being great reading while doing ones business.
The next category is Life’s big questions. This sections looks identical to the previous one but the information it provides are those questions Arsenio Hall used to call, “Things that make you go Hmmm???” Some gems you’ll find here are “Can’t the postman give it to the garbage man directly and save us the hassle?” or “If, in a baseball game, the batter hits a ball splitting it right down the center with half the ball flying out of the park and the other half being caught, what is the final ruling?” Yeah it’s chock full of goofy questions just like that. You could literally fill your brain with tons of useless knowledge and strange questions if you had the time and the desire to do so.
Lastly there’s a your favorites section. Each of the previous two sections provides little facts that have a star button directly at the top middle of the border when the page opens. All anyone has to do to favorite any of them is press the star. It will turn from gray to gold and poof that little nugget is now on your favorites list. Your favorites list is able to be scrolled the same way the previous two screens were. You just press the previous and next buttons to move in the direction you want to go.
That’s about it folks. Like I said this app is simple but in it’s simplicity there is genius. I loved this app. I cracked up while reading several of these and actually learned a few things as well. And yes I’ll admit on more than one occasion i was…ahem….”in the CAN!!”
This app does exactly what it says it does and it does it extremely well. It was great fun!!
